Karen Napier Scholarships for MSc in Investment Analysis Scholarships at University of Stirling, Scotland
The Karen Napier Scholarships are generously funded by the Karen Napier Charity in memory of Karen, a graduate of the MSc in Investment Analysis. Each Scholarship will meet the course fees at the Home/EC rate and will offer £3,500 toward maintenance. In addition, the Accounting and Finance Division will waive the remainder of the course fees in the event that a Scholarship is awarded to an overseas fee paying applicant.
Who can apply?
Applicants may be of any nationality and must hold or expect to obtain an offer of a place on the full time MSc in Investment Analysis for entry in September 2010. Applications may be submitted for the Scholarships along with the course application, but only those obtaining a place on the course will be entered into the Scholarship competition.
How to apply
* Complete the Karen Napier Scholarship application form, (pdf document 24kb) ensuring that all sections are answered legibly.
* Pay particular attention to the section which requires a handwritten statement of approximately 500 words on why a Scholarship would help you, and what your career or educational aims are for the five year period after you graduate from the Investment Analysis course.
* The closing date for receipt of applications is 30 June 2010.
* Please note that the Scholarships will be allocated in July and therefore if you are applying both for the Scholarships and the Investment Analysis course close to the 30 June deadline, you should ensure that your course application is complete.

International Masters Scholarship Scheme
Applications for 2010 Entry
The University has up to 15 full tuition-fee merit-based scholarships for International students commencing taught Masters programmes starting in October 2010.
These scholarships are open to applicants interested in programmes from the following Schools only.
* Biosciences (two available)
* Education (one available)
* Geography (two available – one each for the Exeter and Cornwall campuses)
* Humanities (three available)
* Psychology (one available)
* Sports and Health Sciences (two available)
All of these awards are aimed at International students with high academic ability (typically at least an upper second class honours or international equivalent). Applicants who require pre-sessional English will be considered but will have a lower priority for an award than those applicants who already satisfy the University’s English language requirements. Preference will be given to those who can demonstrate, through their application, the potential to progress to doctoral study at the University of Exeter.
Please note that a number of programmes are specifically excluded from these Scholarships:
Masters in Public Administration (MPA) within Humanities
Masters by Research (MA or MSc), are excluded as they offer the opportunity to pursue a one year research project without a taught element.
All Business School Masters are excluded from this Scholarship Scheme.

MSc and PhD Studentships in Mathematics at National Autonomous University of Mexico
A number of fully funded PhD and Masters studentships are available within the Joint Postgraduate Program in Mathematical Science of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), Campus Morelia, and the Michoacan University of San Nicolas of Hidalgo.
The PhD studentships are tenable for up to 3 years and have a stipend of 10,342 Mexican Pesos per month (816 US Dollars, equivalent to six Mexican minimum wages). The Masters studentships are tenable for up to 2 years and have a stipend of 7,757 Mexican Pesos per month (612 US Dollars, equivalent to four and a half Mexican minimum wages). Health coverage will be provided by the Mexican social security system.
Applicants should have or expect to gain a university degree in Mathematics or related discipline with an average of 8 or higher on a 10 point scale. Non-Spanish speakers are expected to become proficient in Spanish within two years.
The preferred starting date is 16th August 2010. Deadline for applications is 21st May 2010. The entrance exam is scheduled for 5th June 2010. Foreign students are required to arrange for a faculty member to supervise the exam at their home institution.

In order to be admitted into a Master of Science program, applicants must possess a university degree equivalent to a Bachelor of Science degree, which is approximately equivalent to three or four years after secondary school, depending on the number of secondary school years; alternatively, they must have completed at least 8 semesters of university courses, in a national school system that requires 11 or 12 years of study before enrolling in university.

1. are not Italian citizens, or are Italian citizens who are also in possess of another citizenship;
2. are not already enrolled in a Master of Science program of the Politecnico di Torino before the 2010/2011 academic year;
3. are not recipients of any other scholarships, Italian or foreign.
Obtaining a degree at the Politecnico di Torino
To graduate at the Politecnico di Torino, students must attain a total of 120 credits, including exams and the final dissertation. A plan of studies must be outlined under the guidance of the student`s academic tutor to identify, in relation to the student`s previous academic career, the courses additionally required to complete the program of studies for theMaster of Science in which the student is enrolled at the Politecnico di Torino. The time required to graduate is approximately two years. However, the effective duration is also dependent upon each student`s capacity. Note also that the time required for the compulsory Italian course is not considered in the estimated duration of the program.
Please note that scholarship recipients must attend their course for its entire length (2 years – 120 credits). Students who have already attended other university courses can ask for a credit transfer up to a maximum of 10 credits per year (20 credits in total). Please note that credits achieved in preparatory courses or in the first year/second year in systems where preuniversity education lasts 10/11 years can not be taken into account.

Selection criteria
Applicants will be selected on the basis of their previous academic career and of their Curriculum Vitae.
Amount of the scholarship
1. The gross amount of the scholarship is 6.000 Euro per year for the complete period. The exact net sum is dependent upon the individual tax conditions of each student, which can be verified only upon the arrival of the student.
2. The amount of the scholarship will not be increased in case the student will need more time to graduate than indicated.
3. The allocation of the scholarship is dependent upon the submission, within 10 days from the arrival in Italy of the student, of the original documentation, which must correspond with the documentation attached to the online form (see the `Selection outcomes` section below).
4. Payment of the scholarship occurs periodically. The first instalment is dependent upon the possession of the relevant documentation (enrollment certification, residence permit, Italian fiscal code, and bank account in the name of the scholarship recipient), all obtainable upon arrival in Italy; for this reason, the first instalment is not paid at the moment of arrival at the Politecnico di Torino, but in the course of the following months.
Requirements to maintain the scholarship
1. Given that it is not possible to combine the benefits received from more than one scholarship, students who are assigned another study grant while receiving the Politecnico di Torino scholarship must promptly notify the Politecnico di Torino.
2. Payment of the scholarship will be suspended if the academic performance of the recipient does not meet a satisfactory level.
How to apply
Scholarship winners will be selected among the students who have successfully completed and submitted the online application form within March 10th, 2010.
Notes:
1. Enrolment at the Politecnico includes insurance coverage for accidents occurring on the university premises.
2. Medical insurance for emergencies (First Aid), as required by the law for non-EU citizens, is about 100 EURO per year. Upon their arrival in Italy, students must pay this amount to INA Assitalia: this is required for the conversion of the entry visa into a residence permit. For further information on these matters, see the Health insurance section.
We advise students to go to the Italian Embassy or Consulate to inform themselves on the necessary requirements to obtain an entry visa in Italy.

Italia PhD scholarships in Economics at SSUP Sant`Anna, Pisa
INTERNATIONAL DOCTORAL PROGRAM IN ECONOMICS
CALL FOR APPLICATIONS 2010-2011
Sant`Anna School of Advanced Studies (thereafter, the `School`), together with the University of Strasbourg, announces for the Academic Year 2010-2011 a public competition for 4 positions supported by a grant to attend the International Doctoral Program in Economics.
The School reserves the possibility of accepting up to a maximum of 2 further students without grant or other forms of financial support.
The aim of the program, in line with the standards of excellence pursued by the School, is to provide a training path oriented both at research activities and at professional careers in the private and public sectors, involving structured courses and supervised research yielding an original dissertation to be discussed in a public examination.
The program lasts three-years and is offered by an international faculty composed of both internal faculty of the School and of the University of Strasbourg and a large group of Visiting Scholars. The Program, offered jointly with the University of Strasbourg, is part of a European `Network of Excellence` - involving the Universities of Sussex, Aalborg, Manchester, Paris XIII, Oslo, and several others, supporting exchanges of research students and faculty.
At the successful completion of the Program, the School awards the student with the Ph.D.(Philosophy Doctor) Degree.
Applicants must hold a Master of Science (M.Sc.) or a Master of Arts (M.A.) or equivalent title. There is no restriction on nationality of origin.

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS 2010-2011
Sant`Anna School of Advanced Studies (thereafter, the `School`), together with the University of Strasbourg, announces for the Academic Year 2010-2011 a public competition for 4 positions supported by a grant to attend the International Doctoral Program in Economics.
The School reserves the possibility of accepting up to a maximum of 2 further students without grant or other forms of financial support.
The aim of the program, in line with the standards of excellence pursued by the School, is to provide a training path oriented both at research activities and at professional careers in the private and public sectors, involving structured courses and supervised research yielding an original dissertation to be discussed in a public examination.
The program lasts three-years and is offered by an international faculty composed of both internal faculty of the School and of the University of Strasbourg and a large group of Visiting Scholars. The Program, offered jointly with the University of Strasbourg, is part of a European `Network of Excellence` - involving the Universities of Sussex, Aalborg, Manchester, Paris XIII, Oslo, and several others, supporting exchanges of research students and faculty.
At the successful completion of the Program, the School awards the student with the Ph.D.(Philosophy Doctor) Degree.
Applicants must hold a Master of Science (M.Sc.) or a Master of Arts (M.A.) or equivalent title. There is no restriction on nationality of origin.
